Whiplash can occur whenever you have rapid acceleration or deceleration
but most often is associated with car accidents. In this injury the
ligaments and soft tissues are strained or sprained which can be
accompanied by inflamation, muscle spasm, decrease range of motion
caused by subluxation, or increased range of motion due to ligamentous
damage. Studies have shown that even low speed collisions can cause
whiplash and seat belts don't protect your neck while air bags may or
may not depending on the model. Once this damage has occured chiropractic
treatment coupled with physical rehab will help return to normal following
your recovery.
